They both love fruit-bearing trees and plants. This is why we have a lot of them in our backyard and lots more in the farm. Can't to go there next week for another fruit and veggie harvest. For so many years I've known calamansi as the Philippine Lemon or Philippine Lime. Just learned today (accdg to wikipedia) that it's called Calamondin.

CALAMANSI or Calamondin ( the miniature orange), is a native citrus plant in the Philippines and China, is cultivated in Southeast Asia and elsewhere as an important crop. In the U.S. and Europe, it is grown mainly as an outstanding ornamental. The tree, which is often trained as a bonsai, will bloom year-round; filling the air with the aroma of citrus blossom. Flower and fruit often will appear at the same time.

The tree has upright branches with very few thorns and can grow up to 10 feet high. Its 3-inch evergreen leaves are broadly oval and pale green below like those of the kumquat. Its flowers are white and small. The 1 3/4 inch-wide fruit is small, depressed, globose and deep orange-yellow when ripe, loose-skinned and, segmented. The pulp is very acidic. Mature fruit can be produced year round.

It is said that it is an acid citrus, a group that includes lemons and limes. The flesh is orange, juicy and acid, with a fine lime-orange flavor. Because of this, it is usually grouped with the limes. The small seeds are few, with characteristic green cotyledons. One bite of this fruit can pucker your mouth. The fruit, when ripe, is very sour when first tasted. Subsequent tasted fruits make your mouth sweet.

Pamper Yourself

Yogurt and Oatmeal Scrub ( For the Face ):

3 tablespoons dry oatmeal
1/4 c yogurt

Mix ingredients together and scrub onto the face for a minute. It offers so many
tips about anything but not everything under the sun. I finished the book in one
sitting and was somehow enlightened. Let me share with you one tip which
hubby & I enjoyed reading:

49 Tips on Making marriage Happier & More Exciting:

What a Husband can do:

1. Kiss the back o your wife’s neck once a day.
2. Bring her flowers while she can still smell them.
3. Don’t think you always have to keep your chin up. Cry a little, she’ll love
mothering you.
4. Even if you have been married for a long time, compliment her cooking.
5. Ask your wife sometimes regarding business problems. Sometimes take it.
6. Bring home phonograph records of songs you both remember fondly.
7. Never say, “I had that for lunch today.”
8. Light her cigarettes - even if you have to walk across the room to do it.
9. Learn some new jokes for the sake of your wife.
10. Leave parties when she wants you to - within an hour or so.
11. Kiss her in public. She may looked embarrassed or sound sore, but she’ll like
it.
12. Never ask her “What have you done all day, dear?”
13. Send her presents for no reason at all.

What a Wife can do:

1. Don’t make him the family “meany”. Don’t tell your children,”Just wait till
your dad gets home”, or “I want to let you but Daddy says no.”
2. Don’t tell him your problems until you’ve fed him.
3. If it’s real disaster - like taking the fender off the car - make a special
dinner.
4. But a new negligee and wear it.
5. Learn to translate your husband properly. “You look okay” may mean “Darling,
you’re looking wonderful tonight.”
6. Remember the things you said and did to land him and try them again.
7. Don’t shush your husband if he sings at parties or acts the clown.
8. Don’t keep telling him he’s too old to do some of the things that he wants to
do.
9. If possible, be home when he gets there.
10. Put on your cold cream in the daytime, for housewives.
11. If he’s usually amorous and aggressive, turn the tables once in a while.
12. Pay cash for his presents - don’t buy him a gift and the charge it to him.
13. Don’t keep asking him, “Do you love me?” - and believe him when he says that
he does.
14. Don’t borrow his razor.
15. Don’t give him surprise parties.

What you Both can Do:

1. Treat each other occasionally as though you were meeting for the first time.
2. Don’t call each other Mother or Father, and stay away from the couples who
do.
3. Never sleep on a problem without a solution or an agreement.
4. Have a big Family Bible, read it together and enter family records on it.
5. Take up a daring sport that you can do together - like skin-ediving,
water-skiing, or mountain climbing.
6. Stop keeping up with the Joneses.
7. When one of you puts the first dent on the new car, laugh about it.
8. Don’t live all your life by the clock, don’t condemn the other about being
late.
9. Avoid getting mad at the same time.
10. Respect each other’s privacy.
11. Don’t sacrifice all your fun today for what you think may be security tom.
12. Take a walk in the rain together.
13. Spend the night at a hotel.
14. Make a family picture album together.
15. Have one night out alone at least once a month.
16. Switch of the tv and talk.
17. Always have some project going for the future - something to do, build, or
buy.
18. Build each other up in public. Don’t try to compete.
19. Stop going to parties that you don’t want to go.
20. Never begin a sentence with “After all I’ve done for you…”
21. Now that you are finished reading this, tell your husband/wife and that you
would do it all over again.

More tips to come….

Being an all-around wife:

I’ve been playing the role of a housewife since Dec. 12, 2006. From being a MISS to MRS., I would say that things have changed. I now get up in the morning with my husband still sound asleep. I get up, fix myself, and go straight to the kitchen. Yes! I do the cooking. Househelp just assists me. Hehe. I’m no good cook, but at least I can cook. I stay home. I clean up, do groceries, the traditional housewifey stuff. . What does this sum up to? A clean home. . . A happy husband… A happy wife!

I thought I’d go tad bored staying home and not working for couple weeks or months. But to tell you honestly, I haven’t. It’s so much fun organizing our home. From the garage all the way to the backyard. I just so love doing it.

Being a housewife isn’t a simple role to portray. I believe that it is one of the most tiring jobs, ever - Most especially with kids around. I am not pregnant yet… We’re trying…
hoping…. praying.

Ok…. back to cleaning!

All about this Blog:

all-around :

1 dictionary results for: all around

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)

1.

able to do many things; versatile

2.

broadly applicable; not specialized

3.

inclusive; comprehensive; complete

Simply me… Visit me often.
